My Reading List

Something I've been doing a lot recently is reading books and I thought I'd share my reading plans with you all as I have four books on my reading list and one book that I'm currently reading. I've been really enjoying reading this past couple of months and I'm excited to share with you the books on my reading list.

Let's get started!
Surprise Me By Sophie Kinsella
This is a book that I started reading previously while I was on holiday one year but I didn't really get into much so I put it down and never got back to reading then I ended up donating it instead. It wasn't until I came across this book in a charity shop for £2 that I thought I'd give it another chance. Honestly, I've been enjoying it so far because it's about a husband and wife who discover they are going to be married for the next sixty years of their life and suddenly that scares them. I know for many that might be a nice thought but for this couple, their marriage seems to have fallen into the same daily pattern and they are worried about getting bored. That's where they decide to start surprising each other to keep their relationship fresh and full of surprises. It's definitely an interesting concept and I'm only a few chapters in this story but I'm really glad I gave this book a second chance to read. It's also becoming my goal to read all of Sophie Kinsella's books which I'm hopeful to achieve this year as she is one of my favourite authors. This one is definitely surprising me so far and I can't wait to see what happens next.
The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella
This is Sophie Kinsella's latest novel and I'm excited to read it because I feel I'm going to relate so much to the character of Sasha as she is over everything in her life from her work, love life, friends and she's hit a brick wall. Honestly, I find myself feeling the same way from time to time. It's basically where Sasha decides to change her life by drinking kale smoothies, trying yoga and being one with nature by going on a getaway to a resort in Devon. This book has intrigued me and I want to read this to see if I can learn a thing or two from Sasha's journey to improving her life. I always enjoy reading Sophie Kinsella's books so I'm excited to read this one as I'm hopeful it will be just as good as her previous books.
As Old As Time A Twisted Tale Novel by Liz Braswell
One of my favourite Disney movies is Beauty and the Beast which is why when I saw this book in Tesco one day, I just had to pick it up. I heard of these Twisted novels before and I believe I had one before which I think was something to do with Aladdin but I just never got around to reading it and then I forgot what I'd done with it. Yet when I saw this I thought why not give it a chance as it's based around one of my favourite Disney movies for starters but obviously as the title suggests it's a twisted tale. It's set during the time Belle is trapped in the castle with the beast where it is discovered that there might be a connection between Belle's mother and the enchantress which is kind of intriguing to me. It gives a whole new perspective to the story that I know and love so much which is why I'm excited to read this book to find out more about it.
This Spells Love by Kate Robb
This is a book that I decided to pick up when I was browsing Tesco one day and it was actually an offer when you get two books so I ended up going for this one and the final book on this list. I briefly read the blurb and was intrigued that I put it in my basket. Although when I got home, I'm really glad I went for this book because it's about love and making an accidental wish that something never happened which has even bigger implications than you imagine. Gemma is dealing with a bad breakup and makes a wish that it never happened. The wish ends up coming true when her ex is out of the picture, however it also means that her male friend that could have potentially been something more now no longer knows who she is. This got me excited because I know it's going to be a good read where we follow Gemma's journey as she thinks she's done a good thing by wishing her relationship never happened but the realising it has costed her friendship with her male friend who could have potentially been something more and now she has to work out how to get that friendship back. I'm excited to see where this story goes and I've never read anything by Kate Robb before so I'm excited to read a new author. I have high hopes for this one and already hope it will be a good read.
Preloved by Lauren Bravo
This title immediately caught my eye when I saw it on the shelf and as I mentioned there was an offer in Tesco when you buy two books so I chose this book as well. It was another book I related to because Gwen is drifting away from people and when she has moments of joy she has no one to tell even though she knows people in her life. She's not quite close to them anymore which I can understand wholeheartedly because as you get older you do sometimes end up not being close to people anymore. Gwen realises she's lonely and decides to visit a charity shop which is the place of pre-loved things and she's hoping to find a fresh start here. Honestly, I'm excited for this read because again it's a journey about finding yourself and honestly it's something I love to read about because I hope to do the same as these characters do. Plus this is a book by an author I've never read before so I'm excited to read it.

There we have it. That's my up to date reading list and I'm excited to read all these books on the list. Let me know if you have any book recommendations, I'm always looking for new books to read.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
