Blogging Toolkit

Something I thought would be fun to do is share the perfect blogging toolkit for any new bloggers out there who want to start their own blog in 2024. Of course, this can come in handy for other bloggers who aren't new to the field but perhaps want some tips on how they can run their blog. That's why I thought I'd put together this blogging tool kit to help you out when it comes to running a blog.

1. Laptop
One key tool to running a blog is having a laptop. My one is the HP Chromebook 11A and I love it. It's 11.6 inches in size so it's very compact but it's such a lightweight laptop to use when working on my blog. It makes typing so much easier and as it's a chromebook, it uses a lot of google products so things like Blogger and Google Docs runs smoothly on it. You don't really need a fancy laptop or computer setup to run your blog. You just need any old laptop and your ideas to start writing on your blog.

2. Blogging Notebook
This is a personal choice and I talked about this in yesterday's post but having a notebook really helps me out in the long run. This is my pink one from Poundland and I'm using it for my 2024 blogging journey. It's so handy because I can put in my goals for my blog but also I can combine my thoughts and ideas into one notebook. Plus it keeps me organised on what to write next. It's especially helpful for this month where I'm posting everyday to keep me on track. I'm definitely someone who prefers to use a pen and paper for my thoughts as it is something that always works for me. A blogging notebook might not be for everyone but it's always good to have as you can literally take it everywhere with you.

3. Canva
Honestly, I don't know where I would be without Canva. I started using it for my blog in 2023. It was something I used a lot when I was studying my master's degree but it's so useful for my blog. I use it to create my title photos for my blogs and I love it. It's free to use and you can really get creative with it. I'd highly recommend it for title photos and you could also use it for social media content if you wanted to.

4. Blogging Platform
You can really run a blog without having a website and often you need to use a platform to run your blog in. I currently use Blogger to run my blog but I know there's other platforms such as Wordpress and Squarespace. It's also good to purchase your own URL so that your blog will look even more professional but sometimes having a free URL is okay but when you're hoping to expand your blog further, purchasing a URL will go a long way.

5. Phone
I use my phone a lot when it comes to blogging. Mainly to take pictures but when I'm out and about whether it's waiting for a bus stop or I'm taking a break in work, sometimes an idea will pop into my head and that's where my notes app will come in handy. A lot of my blog posts were written first on my notes app then they'd be copied onto a document for editing then I'd publish the post. It's a really useful thing to have when it comes to blogging as it can be used for many different parts of your blog. It also shows you don't need a high tech camera to take good quality pictures. Sometimes the camera on your phone will be just enough.

6. Pinterest
I honestly love using Pinterest to promote my blog. You don't realise the difference it makes. Pinterest is full of blog posts so pinning your blog into a Pinterst board goes a long way. The difference in views from before using Pinterest to after using Pinterest is incredible. It's why it's handy having a title photo on top of every blog post so you can use it to create a pin on Pinterest. That way people will know straight away what the post is about before they've even clicked on the pin. I would highly recommend using Pinterest to help promote your blog. It's definitely worthwhile.

There we have it. That's my blogging toolkit to help any new bloggers to run their blog. Let me know if you have anything that helps you run your blog that I may have missed. I would love to hear the thoughts of fellow bloggers and maybe we can all help each other out in this blogging game.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back again soon with another post for you.

See you then.
