Christmas Gift Ideas

It's that time of year where you have to buy all the people in your life a present. Of course the big thing that people say this time of year is it's not about the presents, it's about the people. Yet you still have to buy a present for people. I feel quite lucky that I have about fourteen people to buy for but still it can be a struggle to buy for people especially when you're not really sure what they like. That's why I'm here to help give you a few ideas which always work for me when I'm buying presents for people. Let's get started.

Photo Album
Back in the early 2000s and 1990s, photo albums were so common in family homes that you wouldn't think of gifting someone it. Now though because a lot of our photos are stored on our phones, we no longer have many printed photos. I find a photo album to be a very thoughtful gift. I've gifted my mum one several times as I've done themed photo albums of our many trips together. You can theme a photo album around a recent holiday you've been on. You could even gift it to a partner of all the photos you've shared together. I think it's such an easy gift to get but it will be a memorable gift that will be cherished forever.

Alcohol
Honestly, this one may not be for everyone but sometimes buying a bottle of someone's favourite alcohol can mean a lot. Personally, I'm a rum drinker and I'm always grateful if someone gives me a rum because it's something I like but I'm also not a huge drinker so a lot of the time that bottle will last me months. Gifting someone's favourite alcohol of choice not only shows that you know the person but also alcohol is not cheap these days so the person will know you've spent money on them and put some thought into the gift. Just one bottle is enough for a present for someone.

Gift Card
People may call this a lazy present but honestly I don't think it is. Someone has put money into a gift card for you to spend. Also gift cards can range from different stores to meals out. I gifted my dad and step mum a gift card to have a meal out. I put enough money for a meal on it and they could use it whenever they wanted, knowing they were getting a free meal out. It's a nice way of not wasting money on something that you're not sure someone will like but getting them something they can use to treat themselves on something they will like. I feel like gift cards are underrated. I think putting money in a card is lazy whereas with a gift card you can get one for a meal out or get it to a specific shop and if you know the person well, you should know which particular shop. Like if they read a lot, get them one for a bookshop. If they're sporty, get one for a sports shop. It shows you know the person but the person using it will buy something they will actually like. Rather than wasting money on something they may not like or even use.

Hamper
Honestly, a hamper is a lovely gift because it's multiple gifts in one. You can get a pre-made hamper from many shops. In my opinion, a special hamper is one you homemade yourself. If you create a hamper for someone with all the things you know love then it makes it even more special. It adds a touch of personality to the present but also shows a lot of thought. You can fill it with their favourite treats or toiletries they like or even a present which is an inside joke between you two. Maybe they have a celebrity crush they really like and you can add something like a mini cardboard cut out in the hamper. You can make the hamper however you like and there's always tools available to make a hamper either online or just buy a big box and wrap all the little presents to put in the box.

Toiletries
You can never go wrong with buying toiletries like shower gels, body lotions, bath bombs or even perfumes. It's an easy gift to get someone and you know it will be used because they are things people will always need and use. You can never go wrong with a little toiletry gift set to give someone for Christmas.

There we have it. Those are my gift ideas for Christmas. I hope they were helpful to any of you struggling with ideas for certain people in your life. For me, I always struggle with the men in my family. I never know what to get them sometimes, although surprisingly I have finished the men. I just have two more people to get for now. Let me know if you have any other suggestions for gifts and who do you struggle to buy for at Christmas. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and I'll be back tomorrow with another post.

See you then.
